Your contract is 8, 10, or 13 weeks
Stay exactly as long as your assignment runs, no fixed monthly increments. If your contract renews, you can extend.

You want to cut costs in an expensive city
DC rents have climbed steadily in recent years. A private room in a shared apartment keeps your housing costs manageable on a travel nurse budget.

FAQ
My placement was just confirmed. How fast can I move in?
Most nurses move in within 24–48 hours of applying. The application is fully online, fill it out from your current city, get approved in 3 hours, sign digitally. You'll receive access details by email and pick up keys on arrival day. If you have a hard start date, mention it when you apply and we'll prioritize your review.
Can I apply before I know my exact end date?
Yes. Book the length you know and extend as needed, extensions are handled in one message, no new application required. The only exception is if a new resident has already secured your unit after a priority offer.
What's the minimum stay?
30 days. After that, stays are completely flexible — 6 weeks, 10 weeks, 3 months and 4 days. No fixed monthly increments. If your assignment is 13 weeks exactly, you book 13 weeks exactly.
What's the application process? What do I need to qualify?
The application is fully online. Standard qualification applies: a credit score of 650+ and proof that your monthly income is at least 3x the monthly rent, or 36x in savings. If you don't qualify on your own, a personal guarantor can co-sign, or you can use June's partner TheGuarantors as your guarantor for a fee. Contact welcome@junehomes.com for more information.
How do I find apartments near my specific hospital?
Use the search at the top of this page. Type your hospital name and you'll see furnished apartments within commuting distance, sorted by proximity. Every major hospital across our cities is indexed, from flagship academic medical centers to community hospitals.
Do I need a car in DC?
Not necessarily. The Metro connects most hospital neighborhoods, and DC has good bikeshare coverage. Some listings near Walter Reed or Sibley are harder to reach by transit, so check commute time per listing.
What's the difference between a private apartment and a shared apartment?
A private apartment is a full unit just for you, studio up to 4 bedrooms depending on the city. A shared apartment gives you a private bedroom in a furnished apartment with roommates. Both options are fully furnished. Shared apartments cost less because utilities are split; private apartments give you complete autonomy.
My housing stipend covers the cost. How does billing work?
June bills monthly through your resident portal with a clear breakdown of rent and utilities. For itemized invoices or stipend reimbursement documentation, contact us.
Are there any upfront costs?
After signing, you'll pay your first full month and a security deposit equal to one month's rent, plus any applicable fees, all due within 3 days of signing. Your last month is prorated if you don't stay the full period.
Are utilities included in the price?
Utilities aren't flat-rate included, they're split between tenants based on your move-in and move-out dates. June manages all utility accounts and bills you directly through your resident portal. No accounts to set up. A $9/month utility management fee applies. Bills arrive in arrears, so you may receive a final utility charge after your stay ends.
I'm an international travel nurse without US credit history. Can I still apply?
Yes. If you don't have US credit history, you or a guarantor can provide proof of financial status from your home country, bank statements or proof of funds. Documents in a foreign language are accepted, though an English translation may be requested. Each application is reviewed individually.
Can two travel nurses share an apartment?
Yes. Browse full apartment listings and each apply separately, if both are approved, you'll co-sign the lease and split rent and utilities. If you're arriving without a roommate in mind, June can help match you with a compatible housemate through the platform.
Is June cheaper than an Airbnb for a 10–13 week assignment?
Almost always yes, and by a significant margin. Short-term rental platforms price for days and weeks, those nightly rates compound fast over a 10–13 week stay. A furnished June apartment in the same neighborhood typically costs substantially less, while offering more space, a proper kitchen, and the stability of a real home. The longer the assignment, the wider the gap.
