    FAQ

    • How quickly can I move into temporary housing in Austin through June?

Most residents move in within 24-48 hours of applying. The application is fully online, and with an average approval time of just 3 hours. Once approved, you sign digitally and receive your access details by email. If you have a hard move-in date, mention it when you apply and we'll prioritize your review.

    • What's the application process like? Do I need a guarantor?

The application is fully online and approvals typically come back within 3 hours. For stays under 45 days, the process is simplified: just your ID, SSN, and a credit score of 650 or higher. No income or savings documentation is required, and no guarantor is needed. For longer stays, standard qualification requirements apply: credit score of 650+ and proof of your monthly income equal to 3x the monthly rent, or savings equal to 36x the monthly rent. If you don't qualify on your own, a personal guarantor can co-sign, or you can use June's partner, TheGuarantors, which can act as your guarantor for a fee. Reach out to welcome@junehomes.com for more information.

    • Can I apply and sign everything remotely, before I arrive?

Yes, fully remote applications are standard with June. You can apply, get approved, and sign digitally from wherever you are. Your access will be sent by email, and you'll pick up your keys on move-in day. No local address is needed to apply.

    • Are there any upfront costs?

After signing, you'll pay your first full month's rent, and a security deposit equal to one month's rent, and any applicable fees. These are all due within 3 days of signing. If you don't stay for a full final month, your last month's rent will be prorated. In Austin, security deposits are held through June's partner Rentable.

    • Are furnished apartments and rooms in Austin available? What if I want an unfurnished room?

Most June listings in Austin are available furnished or unfurnished - just select your preference on the listing before applying. Some units are available as furnished only. If furnishing status is important for your stay, check with our team before booking and we'll point you to the right options. Furnished apartments and rooms come with bed frame and mattress, kitchen essentials, and ready-to-use WiFi. Common areas in shared apartments, including living room, kitchen and bathrooms, are always furnished by June regardless of your choice. Pricing may vary between furnished and unfurnished options.

    • Are utilities included in Austin apartments?

Utilities are not included at a flat rate. Instead, costs are split between tenants based on your move-in and move-out dates. June manages all utility accounts and bills you directly through your resident portal, so there are no separate accounts to set up. A $9 per month utility management fee applies. Bills arrive in arrears, so you may receive a final utility charge after your stay ends.

    • What's the minimum stay in Austin?

The minimum stay is 30 days. After that, days are completely flexible: you can rent for 1 month and 8 days, 2 months and 10 days, or any duration that fits your plans. There's no requirement to stay in fixed monthly increments.

    • Can I extend my stay in Austin if my plans change?

Yes, without a new application. Get in touch before your current period ends and June will handle it directly. The only exception is if a new resident has already secured your space following a priority offer.

    • I'm an international professional without US credit history. Can I still apply?

Yes. If you don't have US credit history, you or a guarantor can provide proof of financial status from your home country, like bank statements or proof of funds. Documents in other languages are accepted, though an English translation may be requested. Each application is assessed on a case-by-case basis.

    • I'm relocating to Austin for a new job and my start date is in 2 weeks. Can June help?

Yes, two weeks is plenty of time. Apply today, get approved within 3 hours, pick your unit across Downtown, East Austin, the Domain, or wherever you need to be, and sign digitally. You can have a confirmed Austin address before your first day of work.

    • Is temporary housing in Austin cheaper than an Airbnb for a 1-3 month stay?

Almost always, and often significantly so. Austin's short-term rental market is especially inflated around events like SXSW and ACL, short-term rental rates spike dramatically during those periods. For a steady 2-3 month stay, a furnished June apartment typically costs significantly less than an equivalent short-term rental, while offering more space, a proper kitchen, and the stability of a real home. The longer your stay, the wider the gap.

    • What's the difference between June and a traditional apartment rental?

Traditional apartment rentals typically require a 12-month minimum, a local guarantor, a credit check, and a 2-4 week approval process. June is built for people who can't or don't want any of that: flexible from 30 days, simplified approval for stays under 45 days, fully furnished, and move-in ready within 24 hours. Same quality of living, significantly less friction.

    For tech & startups

    • I'm joining an Austin tech company and need somewhere while I find a permanent place. Can June help?

Yes, this is one of the most common situations we see in Austin. New hires relocating from out of state, contractors onboarding for a project, or professionals testing the city before committing longer term. Furnished, move-in ready, flexible from 30 days, sorted before your first day.

    • What Austin neighborhoods are best for tech professionals?

The Domain is Austin's tech hub - home to Apple, Google, Amazon, and dozens of startups - and well-served by June listings in North Austin. Downtown and East Austin are popular for professionals who want to be close to the city's energy. Silicon Hills along the 360 corridor is worth considering for longer stays with a car.

    For travel nurses & healthcare

    • I'm a travel nurse on an Austin placement. Does June work for my timeline?

Yes, and this is one of the most common situations we see. Travel nurse and healthcare assignments are typically 8-13 weeks, which aligns perfectly with June's flexible lease terms. Furnished, move-in-ready rooms and apartments, no guarantor requirements, and fast approvals: make the process well suited to the fast pace of healthcare placements.

    • Do you have furnished rooms near Austin hospitals?

Yes. We have options near Dell Stetson Medical Center, St. David's Medical Center, Ascension Seton, and Austin Health. Search by neighborhood or use the hospital filter to find listings by proximity.

    • My stipend covers housing. How does billing work?

June bills monthly through your resident portal with a clear breakdown of rent and utilities. For itemized invoices or stipend reimbursement documentation, contact accounting@junehomes.com.

    • Can I book back-to-back assignments from the same Austin place?

Yes, extensions don't require a new application. Let June know before your current dates end and they'll do their best to keep you in the same unit. If that's not possible, they'll find something comparable nearby.

    For interns & co-ops

    • I only need housing in Austin for 10 weeks. Does June work for that?

Yes, a 10 or 12-week summer or co-op stay is one of the most common booking lengths we see in Austin. 30 days is the minimum and you can extend if your program runs longer.

    • What Austin neighborhoods are best for interns?

West Campus and Hyde Park are the most popular for UT Austin interns, it's walkable to campus and close to the university's research and employer network. Downtown and East Austin work well for tech and startup interns. The Domain is the right base for internships at the major tech companies in North Austin.

    • Can two interns share a furnished apartment in Austin?

Yes. You can browse full apartment listings together and apply separately. If both applications are approved, you'll co-sign the lease and split the cost of rent and utilities. If you don't already have a roommate in mind, June can help match you with a compatible roommate through the platform.

    For remote workers & nomads

    • I'm testing Austin for a few months before deciding whether to move here permanently. Does June work for that?

Yes, this is one of the most common remote worker situations in Austin. Commit to your initial dates, extend as you go, and leave when you're ready. No long-term commitment required on either end.

    • I'm not sure exactly when I'll leave Austin. How does that work?

Book what you know and extend as needed. Keep in mind that early departures require 60 days notice and a surrender fee. Booking a shorter stay and extending later gives you more flexibility than the reverse.

    For media & creative

    • I'm in Austin for SXSW, ACL, or a production contract. Can June help for shorter stays?

30 days is the minimum stay. If your project or event runs shorter than that, a hotel or short-term rental would be the better fit. For anything 30 days or longer - a production contract, an extended festival season, or a creative residency - June works well and typically costs significantly less than Airbnb for the same duration.

    • I'm a musician or creative professional spending a season in Austin. What's the process?

Same as any June booking: fully online, average 3-hour approval, credit score of 550 or above. Austin's lower credit score threshold is particularly useful for freelancers and creative professionals whose income structure doesn't always fit the traditional documentation mold. For stays under 45 days, no income documentation is required at all.

    For corporate relocation

    • How does temporary housing in Austin compare to a corporate serviced apartment?

Corporate serviced apartments and extended-stay hotels in Austin, especially around the Domain and Downtown, are priced at a significant premium. June offers a similar product at market-rate pricing without the corporate markup. The experience is more like living in Austin than staying in a business hotel.

    • Can I expense a June Homes Austin stay through my company?

Yes. June provides invoices and itemized receipts through your resident portal. Contact us through the tenant's app for any format your finance team requires.

    • We're relocating multiple employees to Austin. Can June handle group bookings?

Yes. Contact welcome@junehomes.com directly - we can find options in the same building or neighborhood across Downtown, the Domain, and East Austin to keep your team close.
